Business Transition Update: Step 3 Complete
It has been a little while since my last business transition update, but there has been plenty happening behind the scenes at Poole's Embroidery.
When I last checked in, my new professional heat press system had arrived and Step 3, getting everything assembled, organized, and worked into my studio, was just beginning.
Today, I can officially say:
Step 3 is complete!
The heat press is assembled, in place, and has officially become part of my workspace alongside my Barudan embroidery machine.
Making room for an entirely new decorating process took some planning and rearranging. I wanted the new equipment to fit naturally into my studio without taking away from the embroidery work that remains such an important part of my business. I'm very happy with how everything came together.
Over the past few months, I've also been taking the time to become familiar with the equipment, test different materials and applications, and make sure I'm comfortable with the process before offering it as another decorating option for my customers.
For me, this expansion has always been about doing it thoughtfully rather than rushing it.
Adding heat-applied decoration opens the door to projects and designs that aren't always well suited for embroidery, while embroidery will continue to be the right choice for many others. Having both capabilities will allow me to offer more options and recommend the decorating method that makes the most sense for each project.
Looking at the studio now, it's exciting to see the transition that started several months ago coming together.
And there's only one milestone left.
Step 4: My first customer heat press project.
That one is coming soon!
